Thanksgiving

So, what's on your menu? I think when I'm done, I'll never want to see another turkey — at least until next year when we do it all again!

I'm making enough food to feed the neighborhood — at least it feels that way! Do three people really need a whole turkey — at least I got one of the smallest at eleven pounds. And we're having all the fixings to go along with it: bread stuffing, corn bread dressing roasted inside a whole pumpkin, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce, sweet potatoes, steamed cauliflower, and green beans — not the casserole thingie but slow cooked in chicken broth with bacon and onions. And of course — Pumpkin Pie for dessert! All homemade, too (except for the pie) no canned cranberry sauce or gravy for this family! As I said, do three people need all this? No, but that's what leftovers are for! :-)

Oh, and if you're wondering — this year's Thanksgiving Feast is compliments of TV chef, Tyler Florence. Nearly all the dishes except for the traditional family bread stuffing come from his recipes. Thanks, Tyler!

Afterwards, it's on to Turkey Tetrazzini and Turkey Soup leftovers! (Those are my recipes by the way — Tyler only gets so much control of the kitchen.

Here's wishing everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving!
