First France pissed Washington off and Congress passed resolutions that gave us “Freedom Fries” and Freedom Toast.”
Does the latest news out of Spain mean we are in for “Solidarity Rice” and “Solidarity Olives?”
Sunday's election saw a change in power in Spain. The conservatives are out and the socialists are in. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the leader of the victorious socialist party, had this to say today about the war in Iraq — “It divided more than it united, there were no reasons for it, time has shown that the arguments for it lacked credibility and the occupation has been managed badly.”
His comments probably echo too much of the truth for some and I can only hope that a lack of Spain's support doesn't mean some hastily passed resolutions on Capitol Hill renaming more psuedo-ethnic foods.
How long before we boycott Paella and Arroz con Pollo?
