Happy Birthday to me
Well, as you can tell, today is my birthday. And it has to be the worst one I've ever had. That's not to say that I don't appreciate all the emails, cards, and calls I've gotten from my friends. Or the fantastic gift I've gotten from two very special friends, one of who is thankfully very handy…I LOVE my new outlet and shelving set up! My computer is actually much more pleasureable to work at again. You'd think the flat panel monitor from my parents would have made this a great birthday….
Unfortunately, I've just spent the past 6 hours in the ER with my mother who sounded as if she'd had a stroke right before I called her from work this afternoon. She couldn't figure out how to work a telephone and I kept hearing my father in the background telling her to say hello. I called 911 and met them at the hospital. We don't know if she's had a stroke, the tests aren't conclusive but there is something to question. Her blood pressure is through the roof and she's on an IV med to bring it down. They transfered her to the ICU at 9:00pm. She's scheduled for an MRI tomorrow and probably a whole battery of tests again. This is shades of last fall when this same type of thing happened.
All I've got to say is it sucks getting old!
